Long-term care costs and statistics

For the past several years, long-term care costs have been increasing at a rate of over 10% per year. It's great that we're all living longer, but this reality adds greatly to the expenses you can expect to incur. It costs a lot of money to live longer. It costs even more to stay healthy.

What you need to apply for your veterans benefit

The VA may reject your application for benefits if one required document isn't attached to your application. Southern Illinois Elder Law will help you make sure that your application is complete before submission, but it's never too early to start gathering what you'll need.

Medicaid application checklist

As with any application to a government-run agency, you must gather a substantial amount of documentation for the Medicaid authorities to act upon your petition. Although the list is extensive, most of the items included should be relatively easy to put your hands on.
